Marquis & Andrew | Day After Session | Naples Wedding Photographers
These day after shoots just happen to be some of the most fun shoots of all. Fun, that is, for Karl and I and the bride and groom alike. There’s nothing quite like climbing in a fountain, La Dolce Vita style, or rolling around in the surf in a gorgeous gown. While photographing a day after session we always have one of those, “they actually pay us to do this!” moments. And you don’t necessarily need to “trash the dress” as they say. You can be as nice to your dress as you like. Have a look. Oh yeah don’t forget to check out their wedding fotovideo, wedding day pictures and engagement photos.

Marquis & Andrew | Spanish Wells Country Club | Naples Wedding Photographer
To celebrate the wedding of Marquis and Andrew, we kicked off the day at the Felix Andrews Salon at Coconut Point. Marquis made her way down the street to Sephora for her makeup. The bridesmaids were pretty in their green J.Crew dresses. In the afternoon sun Marquis and Andrew were married at the same Bonita Springs beach where, once upon a time, they first met at a party. The skies were windy and sunny and it was just a gorgeous day. The couple help their wedding reception at Spanish Wells Golf and Country Club. Congratulations to the both of you! Oh yeah don’t forget to check out their wedding fotovideo, day after session and engagement photos.

Alli & Alex | San Francisco, CA | Destination Wedding Photographers
Now for what we were up to on our California adventure. Alli’s aunt hosted, as well as officiated, the wedding at her beautiful country home. We were there for the rehearsal, which we often cover for destination weddings. Dinner took place at Caps, at a nearby restaurant. Rehearsal coverage is a great way for wedding guests to become familiar with us before the wedding day.
Now this is how I wish we could start every wedding day: picking fresh fruit. There was a cherry orchard adjacent to the house, and we picked several pounds which we even carried carefully back to Naples. (I received strange looks from airport security when I asked that they be gentle with my carry on.) There’s nothing quite like picking and eating your own food.
As for the wedding location, how gorgeous! Fountains, roses, hedges and pretty gates, white lanterns in the trees, vineyard across the street… what a dream. The long driveway served as the aisle, with the beautiful iron gate behind the altar. Alli looks like a bridal goddess with those trees swaying around her, no? The festivities took place in the backyard while live music and dancing entertained the guests. We even shipped the fotobooth out there with us! Yes, it travels well, and the wedding guests had a ball. What a wonderful wedding you two had… thank you for having us there to capture your photos. Congratulations!
And please click here for a look at their gorgeous videography by Weddings on Film. Justin and Georgina were an absolute pleasure to work with on this beautiful wedding. They are based in Marin County, California, and they are available for travel.

Lauren & Ian | LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort | Naples Wedding Photography
These next wedding photos we have to share are of Lauren and Ian’s pretty day at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort. The clouds threatened to rain on the parade, but of course the sun came shining through for the ceremony on the lawn. Capturing this couple’s day was absolutely enjoyable. Lauren and Ian are such kind and genuine people, always smiling. During their engagement, Ian had broken his leg, and I believe had been off his crutches for a matter of weeks!
We had the chance to work alongside Hope Henderson, who does wonders with makeup. Check out her site here. One of Lauren’s bridesmaids was our friend Amanda of Grace Lakes Florist. The flowers were an especially beautiful part of the wedding, they did such fantastic work. Lauren’s bridal bouquet was composed of incredibly fragrant garden roses. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were surrounded by large dark leaves that provided such a nice contrast to the pink flowers. Colorful centerpieces punctuated the reception tables.
Music for the cocktail hour and the reception were done by none other than the Brett Foreman Band. (Who, by the way, we love love love.) The toasts given at the reception were especially fun to listen to because they were all very heartfelt. Guests at this event also win the prize for taking the most photos in the fotobooth to date. Over one thousand! Notice our shiny new marching band hat, found at an antique store. Lauren and Ian, thank you for including us in your day, we wish you all the best!

Jenny & Matt | Mediterra Beach Club | Naples Wedding Photography
As a husband and wife team, Karl and I often shoot side by side while focusing on different angles or subjects. Karl might be working a group shot while I’m zoomed in close on two friends laughing. Or he’s photographing the ring bearer while I’m having a moment with a beautiful pair of shoes or the ring. Jenny and Matt’s charming wedding had loads to choose from. The wedding party in their yellow sweetness, Jenny’s pretty Kate Spade shoes, her handmade details, the way Jenny and Matt just smile at a glimpse of the other… Not to mention they had cake and cupcakes by none other than Sassy Cakes. Yum yum!
Getting ready and pre-wedding photos took place at the Hyatt Coconut Plantation and the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. The ceremony and reception were held at the Mediterra Beach Club. Their rooftop pool area at the beach club is gorgeous! After the ceremony we talked the wedding party into a little walk out into the Gulf. It was a bit far out but we could see a sandbar beyond some deep-ish looking water. Dancing and our fotobooth entertained guests through the night. The coconut bra made quite a few appearances that night too. Jenny and Matt, we were honored to capture your wedding photos. We wish you the best!

Wedding Foto Video | LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort
As promised, we want to show you Jen and Justin’s wedding foto video shot at LaPlaya. The shadows of the clouds moving over the Gulf is a bit mesmerizing. These little movies are so much fun for us to make, and especially fun to watch as they come together. After a wedding, Karl and I flip through the thousands of photos on our screen very quickly, and they way it suddenly animates is magic. At this reception, we had the fotobooth and foto video happening side by side to catch the spelling shots.
This is the video I mentioned in the last post which Justin played at their wedding reception. It’s the story of how they met at the hotel where they both work. The whole room cheered as it played.

Jen & Justin | LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort | Naples Wedding Photographers
Our friends Jen and Justin were married under sunny skies at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort. With the lush backdrop of LaPlaya and pretty pops of pink coloring their day, it was a treat to photograph. Not to mention Jen and Justin are so sweet and easygoing. Oh, and their wedding party was a fun group… it was pretty much a big party. (That’s really what Karl and I do, right? We go to a big party every weekend.)
During the reception, the fotobooth shots splashed across a large monitor for guests to view as they happened. (Usually they’re just on the small fotobooth monitor.) It was great to see the wackiness from all the way across the dance floor. Another funny bit was the handful of letters I brought, only enough to spell “Jen Loves Justin.” Karl and I were quite surprised at how many words the partygoers could spell with that limitation! I must admit, I think a few drinks helped their creativity. It proved to be such a hit that we now have a full set of letters in our prop basket for spelling to your heart’s content! Congrats Jen and Justin on your newlywed status!
P.S. Justin worked with us on a foto video about the way he met Jen… and then played it at their reception to their guests’ delight. The result was adorable; we’ll have to post it soon. That, and their wedding foto video! I think Karl and I have watched it twenty times. So keep checking in, there’s more to come.

Rachel & Sam | Hilton Naples | Naples Wedding Photography
On their wedding day, we met Rachel and Sam at The Garden of Hope and Courage at NCH for their first sight. They are so sweet together, and short dresses are so fun, no? After some garden photos, we headed to the Hilton Naples, where their ceremony and reception took place. Something we had not witnessed before was a ceremony in sign language. Rachel and Sam also took turns signing their vows to each other. It was beautiful to watch. They performed the song Modern Nature by Sondre Lerche during their reception, both singing and Sam on the guitar. And another noteworthy moment of the night was Rachel changing into a pair of Converse for dancing. Congratulations Rachel and Sam, we wish you all the best!
