Jessica & Jeremy Part 2 | The West Bay Club | Southwest Florida Wedding Photographer
As promised, here are more photos from Jessica and Jeremy’s wedding at The West Bay Beach & Golf Club. It Must Be Love Weddings & Events did a beautiful job setting up the beach ceremony and poolside reception sites. Isn’t the mossy monogram a cool idea? Their ring bearer was too cute for words. He didn’t want to go down the aisle, but with his mom encouraging him from behind and his dad from the seats he managed to complete the all important task!
Karl and I loved shooting Jessica and Jeremy’s reception at the West Bay Club. The light-strung palm trees and the pretty centerpieces along with the setting sun made for a stunning scene. It was fun as always to work with the video team at iHeart Films. The Steve Farst Band provided fun poolside entertainment all evening. The couple made cool use of sparklers surrounding their first dance. It was absolutely beautiful. It turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the day, watching Jess and Jeremy descend the stairs to their sparkly first dance and the awaiting party. You could tell that moment, looking at all of their loved ones below, stole Jessica’s breath for a moment. We stole the couple for a few more photos on the surrounding grounds. Their party, fotobooth and all, went strong until the end. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Ridgeo!
Not expecting them to say yes, I suggested that Jessica and Jeremy roll down a hill. Not only did they agree, but Jessica clapped her hands at the thought! It was such a playful moment. Never hurts to ask, right?
I took these photos with a neat lens that turns the blurry faraway lights into little hearts. Fun!
Julie & Josh | Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort | Marco Island Wedding Photographer
Oh Julie and Josh, your wedding on Marco Island was such a good time! Their celebration marked our first occasion to shoot at the Marco Island Marriott. The resort is so sprawling and the beach so deep. We covered a lot of ground with the wedding party, who all played along so nicely in front of the camera. From the start, Julie has shown her excitement and enthusiasm for our work, and we love her for it! Josh and Julie are both so fun and laid back as you can see from their photos.
Making the day possible, like they so often do, were the indispensable Justin and the fabulous Angelina. Justin is often around on longer wedding shoots helping us create the foto video. Taking an extra 15,000 photos is no easy feat! Angelina helps out with a myriad of things, from freeing us up to shoot by carrying our heavy things, running for much needed lenses, and offering her creative eye. What’s more, they’re both great photographers themselves!
It was quite a treat to work with Clint Wiley’s None Other for the first time! They played some great tunes and had the dance floor packed all night. And I have to mention the little boy with the Nikon. What a heartbreaker! I first noticed him after the ceremony, taking photos with his dad’s camera. By mid-reception he was taking photos of Karl and me and even trying a few shots with our cameras! I now refer to him as “my boyfriend.” All in all it was one of those beautiful celebrations that flew by. Congratulation Julie and Josh, you make an amazing couple!
Sanibel Sunset Beach Wedding
I always love doing weddings out on Sanibel Island, and this wedding was no exception, just a little different than most. I met up with Amber & Cody at a little beach resort called the West Wind Inn. What’s not to like about the cozy buildings and pool overlooking the sparkling Gulf of Mexico? The sunset this evening was one for the record books; a perfect backdrop for Amber & Cody to celebrate their marriage. Just after the sun set, the couple wanted to do something extreme: take a jump into the the Inn’s pool. To make this shot happen I had to enter the pool (fully clothed) and get down right near the surface of the water. I shot with a wide lens, so I had to be relatively close to the bride and groom. As they jumped I realized that there’s a 90% chance I’m going to get splashed. After seeing the shot though, it was worth every soaking minute.
A quick photo taken by my wife Nanette, usually doesn’t see me in action, I usually just show up at home hurt, sandy, or wet.

Natalia & Kipling’s Sanibel Island Beach Wedding
It is so funny, when I lived in Michigan, all I could do was dream about getting a wedding to take place out on a beach. Then I moved to Southwest Florida (Naples), where getting married on the beach is just about the only thing a couple will do. I do love it when the bride and groom are willing to risk it a little and venture out into the water on their wedding day. I had a wonderful time photographing this wedding on Sanibel Island, enjoy the photos below.
